DIABETIC WOUNDS

gram “-ve" organisms and Fungi.

The highest percentage of zone of inhibition indicates that the leaf can be very well useful in candidiasis.

Candidiasis is a kind of infection to the skin or mucous membrane caused by Candida albicans, a small oval shaped fungus. Skin, nails, mouth, vagina, vulva, bronchi and lungs are affected by this fungus. When mouth is affected, white plaque appears on the membranes of mouth and tongues. Skin lesions will be reddish, nails, penis, anus are the other parts affected by this fungus. The infection may occur in any part including brain, heart, kidneys and eyes. The symptoms appear depending on the extent of the infection of each part.

DIABETES AND HEART

Heart is also the target organ affected by Diabetes.

Diabetic patients are liable to get silent heart attacks without experiencing the usual symptoms of heart attack.

Heart attack is usually accompanied by excruciating pain in the left side of the chest, radiating to the left arm, and some times even upto the tip of the fingers. But the diabetic patients most probably will not experience the symptoms of pain or sweating.

The nerves that are supplying blood to heart are disturbed by the raise of sugar in the blood resulting in the blockage of the vessels that supply blood to the heart.

Since there is certain amount of neuropathy already existing, the diabetic patients may get heart attack.
