My acquaintance with Dr. Akbar Kausar of Tamil Nadu was under a strange circumstance. It was in a function in Bangalore where thousands of his patients who were cured of their various diseases like kidney failure, liver failure, diabetes, arthritis and those who were cured of their alcoholism and drug addiction, had assembled to honour him for his medical services. Being a doctor my self, I was astonished to see for the first time in my life that the patients were conferring honour to their doctor in a public function. Being invited as a guest of honour for the function, I had the privilege to confer on this world renowned doctor the title "The Deiveega Maruthuvar” -DIVINE PHYSICIAN.

I was very much impressed by Dr. Akbar Kausar's performance as a physician and his service to the people. In the present world where even medical knowledge has been commercialised, here is a doctor who has no hesitation to publicise all the medical information available with him. He has published medical treatises in different languages on various herbs and their medicinal properties, some of which been hither to unknown to both the physicians and the public.
