The
food schedule for diabetics would not only keep them hale and
healthy but alsoprevent complications in our system. Diabetics
can enjoy the life if they follow a regular diet schedule given
below:
EARLY
MORNING
Bed time to early morning nearly there is eight hours gap available
in which the
Diabetic takes rest and deep sleep. During this period his whole
stomach become
empty. When he wake up from the bed he feel severe hungry. To
subside the hungry and thirst he must take one glass of water,
one cup of tea, coffee, milk, or kasini tea along with two sugar
less biscuits as bed tea tiffen.
Method of Kasini Tea Preparation -I
Just like tea or coffee powder kasini plant powder is available
in the market. It is a drink, food, nutrition and medicine to
diabetic patients.
Kasini Plus is a herbal compound which contains several herbs
including kasini plant which is available at our hospital only.
It is also a good drink, food, nutrition and medicine to diabetic
patients.
Take one teaspoon of kasini powder or kasini plus powder. Mix
the powder in
cup of water or milk. Boil and filter it and drink as regular
tea or coffee.
Method of Kasini Drink Preparation - II
In the second method there is no need to boil the kasini powder
or kasini plus
powder. Just put the herbal powder in a cup of water in night
at bed time, Early morning take this preparation filter it, drink
the medicated herbal water in the empty stomach or after meals.
BREAKFAST
Your stomach, body and mind is totally fasting the whole night
so try to break the
fast as early as possible to avoid the irritation in the stomach
and mind.
For breakfast one of the following items can be eaten.Idly, Roti,
Dosai, Uppuma, Poori, Semya, prepared from wheats, macroni, wheat
Dosai, Ragi adai etc.
Vegetables except potato tubers,.coconut and raw plantain, can
be taken as side dish. Kasini vegetable salad or cooked kasini
vegetable .is prefered .
Keep in your mind that your plate should contain 1:2 ratio of
food and vegetables. For example your two chappaties or two idelies
weight comes to 200gms your vegetable item should be 400gms, i.e.,
two time more. Along with the breakfast kasini tea is recomended.
11 A.M TIFFEN
Your mind and body will work very fast in the morning hours. Your
breakfast tiffen which was taken in the morning will be digested
totally in two hours. So you need energy to continue your morning
work. The stomach should not be left empty at 11 A.M.
Kasini soup or any greens vegetable soups or lemon juice or grape
juice
without sugar, or tomato juice, tea or coffee without sugar, dhal
soup, or mutton or
chicken soup must be taken. Small quantity of apple, orange, pine
apple may also be eaten.
Pulses like Bengal gram, Black gram (Kalachana) green gram, fennu
greek, (Methi) dhals, pulses and nuts fried item 50gms can be
taken along with the vegetables soups or tea, coffee. Prepared
snacks from Haldi ram food Manufacturing company also can be taken
if house preparation is not available.
These nuts and grains contains more vegetable protein which is
good for diabetic patients
NOON MEALS
The basic theory of taking lunch is very easy. Take less rice
add more vegetables in your dinning plate. Kasini vegetables or
kasini soup should be regularly added. Vegetables rich in fibre
should be taken. Non - vegetarian items like chicken, mutton,
fish, egg should be added in small quantity to avoid high cholestrol
and fat content.
Regular midday
meal with vegetables, fat removed curd or butter milk also can
be added. Eating all types of greens should be made a habit
Lunch can include one cup of boiled rice with as many as four
cups of vegetables boiled along with kasini vegetable leaf.
BED REST
After noon meal one to two hours bed rest or a deep sleep is advisible
for the freshness of the mind, body and soul for the balance of
the day evening and night.
EVENING MINI MEALS
Diabetic people are strongly recomended for a mini meal plan in
the evening between 4.30 to 5.P.M. In the evening again the stomach
will feel empty, so snacks like vadai, bajji, sundal etc., may
be taken with Coffee or Tea with out sugar or take kasini tea
with light snacks
NIGHT MEALS
Repeatation of the breakfast tiffen or mini meals along with kasini
tea / drink or kasini plus tea / drink for supper is recomended
. 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. timing is the best for your dinner.
BED TIME
Television culture has changed our life style. 100 years back
when electricity was not available to the common man they use
to go for bed when sunset and they woke up with the sunrise. But
now the computer man goes to bed in the early morning and woke
up in noon. The diabetic people also addicted to television.
Culture. He use to see news and other interested programs even
up to 12 at night. Before going to bed his stomach becomes again
empty. It is advisible to take one glass of milk (200 ml).
